yl6809永利官网集团办学历史悠久，文化底蕴深厚，最早可追溯到1914年公共卫生学家颜福庆教授创办“长沙湘雅医学专门学校”并担任首任校长和卫生科学教授。1952年，湘雅医学院成立“卫生学教学研究室”；1975年，成立“卫生系”；1988年，随国家高等学校专业目录的调整，“卫生系”改为“预防医学系”，同时建立了预防医学研究所；1995年，更名为“湖南医科大学公共卫生学院”；2000年4月yl6809永利合并组建后，更名为“yl6809永利公共卫生学院”；2015年，更名为“yl6809永利官网集团”。2020年，学院入选国家“高层次应用型公共卫生人才培养创新项目”首批建设单位。2022年，学校被教育部认定为国家高水平公共卫生学院建设高校。

学院设有流行病与卫生统计学系、劳动卫生与环境卫生学系、营养与食品卫生学系、儿少卫生与妇幼保健学系、卫生毒理学系、社会医学与卫生事业管理学系、卫生检验与检疫学系、预防医学实验中心、公共卫生培训中心等7个学科系和2个中心。现有教职工80人，其中含正高级职称22人，副高级职称28人；在校本科生600余人，研究生300余人。

经过多年的发展，学院已初步建成实力雄厚、优势突出、方向齐全的公共卫生与预防医学学科。预防医学本科专业被列为国家级一流本科专业建设点，公共卫生与预防医学一级学科被列为湖南省重点学科。“综合评价方法及其医学应用”和“社会精神病学”研究方向分别列为国家重点学科“概率论与数理统计”和“精神病与精神卫生”的研究方向。

目前，学院设有“公共卫生与预防医学”“公共卫生”博士、硕士学位授权点以及博士后流动站，是2个国家工程研究中心——医疗大数据应用技术国家工程实验室（yl6809永利）、个体化诊疗技术国家工程研究中心和湖南省“芙蓉实验室”的重要组成部分。学院拥有2个国家级培训基地，1个国家卫健委区域性营养创新平台（中部地区），1个国家级大学生校外实践教育基地；1个湖南省重点实验室，1个湖南省卫健委研究中心，1个湖南省社会科学普及基地，7个校级研究所（室、中心）以及1个实验中心。

多年来，学院全面落实立德树人根本任务，持续推进师资队伍建设，现已形成一批稳定、结构合理的高水平教师团队。学院目前有入选包括“长江学者奖励计划”获得者在内的国家及省级人才计划教师12人。

近年来学院科学研究工作发展迅速，学术地位不断提高，学术队伍稳定发展。目前已形成综合评价方法及其医学应用研究、慢性病分子流行病学研究、社会行为与健康、化学毒物诱导肝损伤分子机制、职业和环境因素健康损害、特殊人群营养与健康研究等多个稳定科研方向。近5年，学院共获得各类科研课题200余项，其中国家重点研发计划1项、子课题3项，国家社科基金重大项目1项，获省部级科研成果奖6项，教育部高等学校科学研究优秀成果一等奖1项，湖南省教育科学研究优秀成果奖一等奖1项。先后主办4 次国际学术会议，研究内容主要集中在公共健康危害因素的预防控制对策领域，国际合作课题主要来自于美国NIH、联合国教科文组织、联合国儿童基金会、加拿大（CIHR）、中华医学基金会（CMB）以及国外名校的科研合作。有30余名教师曾出国访问、进修。

学院将紧扣国家公共卫生和健康安全重大需求，树立“大卫生、大健康”理念，推进公共卫生多学科交叉研究，围绕“凝聚大团队、搭建大平台、承担大项目、取得大成果”新定位，完善高水平公共卫生人才培养体系，全力建设世界一流公共卫生学院。

Xiangya School of Public Health, Central South University (CSU) has a long history and profound cultural heritage, which can be traced back to 1914 when Professor Yan Fuqing, a renowned public health scientist, founded Changsha Xiangya Medical Specialized School, serving as its first president and professor of hygiene science. In 1952, the Teaching and Research Section of Hygiene was established at Xiangya Medical College. In 1975, the Department of Hygiene was founded. In 1988, in accordance with the national adjustment to the Catalogue of Undergraduate Majors in Higher Education Institutions, the Department of Hygiene was renamed the Department of Preventive Medicine, and the Institute of Preventive Medicine was established simultaneously. In 1995, it was renamed the School of Public Health, Hunan Medical University. After the establishment of Central South University through institutional merger in April 2000, it was renamed the School of Public Health, Central South University. In 2015, it was officially renamed Xiangya School of Public Health, Central South University. In 2020, the School was selected as one of the first batch of construction units under the national Innovative Project for Cultivating High-Level Applied Public Health Talents. In 2022, Central South University was selected by the Ministry of Education (MOE) as a construction university for the National High-Level Public Health School Initiative.

The School comprises 7 academic departments and 2 centers: Department of Epidemiology and Health Statistics; Department of Occupational and Environmental Health; Department of Nutrition and Food Hygiene; Department of Maternal, Child and Adolescent Health; Department of Health Toxicology; Department of Social Medicine and Health Management; Department of Health Laboratory Science and Quarantine; Preventive Medicine Experiment Center; and Public Health Training Center. Currently, the School has 80 full-time faculty and staff, including 22 with senior professional titles and 28 with associate senior professional titles. The student body consists of more than 600 undergraduates and over 300 postgraduate students.

Through years of development, the School has initially established a robust discipline of Public Health and Preventive Medicine with outstanding strengths, distinctive advantages and comprehensive research directions. The undergraduate program in Preventive Medicine has been designated as a National First-class Undergraduate Program Construction Site. The First-level Discipline of Public Health and Preventive Medicine is designated as a Key Discipline of Hunan Province. The two research directions, namely Comprehensive Evaluation Methods and Their Medical Applications, and Social Psychiatry, are respectively listed as research directions under the national key disciplines of Probability Theory and Mathematical Statistics, and Psychiatry and Mental Health.

Currently, the School is accredited to confer doctoral and master’s degrees in Public Health and Preventive Medicine and Public Health, and hosts a postdoctoral research station. It is a key constituent of two national-level engineering research platforms: the National Engineering Laboratory for Medical Big Data Application Technology (Central South University) and the National Engineering Research Center for Individualized Diagnosis and Treatment Technology, as well as Hunan Furong Laboratory. The School houses 2 national-level training bases, 1 Regional Nutrition Innovation Platform (Central China Region) of the National Health Commission (NHC), 1 National Off-Campus Practice Education Base for Undergraduates, 1 Hunan Provincial Key Laboratory, 1 Research Center under the Hunan Provincial Health Commission, 1 Hunan Provincial Social Science Popularization Base, 7 university-level research institutes (laboratories, centers), and 1 experimental center.

For many years, the School has fully implemented the fundamental task of fostering virtue through education, continuously promoted the development of the faculty team, and built a stable, well-structured and high-caliber faculty team. Currently, 12 faculty members have been selected into national and provincial talent programs, including the Chang Jiang Scholars Program.

In recent years, the scientific research work of the School has developed rapidly, with steadily rising academic status and stable growth of the academic team. A number of well-established research directions have been formed, including Comprehensive Evaluation Methods and Their Medical Applications, Molecular Epidemiology of Chronic Diseases, Social Behavior and Health, Molecular Mechanisms of Liver Injury Induced by Chemical Toxicants, Health Damage Caused by Occupational and Environmental Factors, and Nutrition and Health Research for Special Populations. Over the past five years, the School has secured more than 200 research projects of various types, including 1 project under the National Key R&D Program of China, 3 corresponding sub-projects, and 1 Major Project of the National Social Science Fund of China. It has won 6 provincial and ministerial-level scientific research achievement awards, 1 First Prize for Outstanding Scientific Research Achievements in Higher Education Institutions from the MOE, and 1 First Prize for Outstanding Educational Research Achievements in Hunan Province. The School has hosted 4 international academic conferences, with research mainly focusing on strategies for the prevention and control of public health hazards. Its international collaborative projects are mainly funded by the U.S. National Institutes of Health (NIH), UNESCO, UNICEF, the Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR), the China Medical Board (CMB), and established through research partnerships with prestigious overseas universities. More than 30 faculty members have completed academic visits or advanced studies overseas.

The School will closely respond to the major national needs for public health and health security, uphold the philosophy of "Great Hygiene, Great Health", promote interdisciplinary public health research, focus on the new development positioning of "gathering top-tier teams, building high-end platforms, undertaking major projects, and delivering landmark achievements", refine the training system for high-level public health talents, and strive to build a world-class school of public health.
